Just people who are still alive?

Yes, the information I'm asking for is who is around to give advice today who has been active in the markets long enough to have seen plenty of ups and downs before.

I have read Derman's book, and both of Taleb's, and I think Taleb is on to something about protecting oneself from unforeseeable risks. Taleb in his recent conference appearance with Kahneman, which is available in an online video, said that since hurricanes are not completely predictable, one needs to build a hurricane-proof house.
